RESOURCES FOR
COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
Many people are surprised to learn that more than half of suicide deaths involve a firearm. In recent years, suicide involving firearms has increased in Hispanic/Latino communities, and suicide remains a leading cause of death among young people nationwide.
There are not many Spanish-language resources about suicide prevention or safe firearm storage. Finding firearm safety and suicide prevention information in Spanish can be difficult for many communities. In our work with the community, Hispanic/Latino parents told us how important it is to share resources with community partners, including grocery stores and supermarkets, schools, gun ranges, and faith-based organizations. By sharing information and promoting safe firearm storage, we can help protect families and save lives.
The PDF documents below bring together existing resources in Spanish and English. By clicking on the document images, you can download, save, print, and use the PDF files for employee awareness and sharing with customers, clients, and people in the community.
